Wycoller Walk

What a fabulous and fun day! Walking group walk from Wycoller Country Park. Quick look around the ruins of Wycoller Hall at the start of the walk. I then struggled on the walk up the hill, need to build my fitness back up after being ill!!! I am sure the fresh air and exercise did me good though.

The weather was superb, not too cold or too hot, blue skies, wonderful colours on the countryside ... and snow in places! The snow made it extra fun, especially when we came to a new type of stile ... a snow drift. This picture really sums it up. The only way was over. The snow was quite solid in parts but then all of a sudden it would give way like a mini crevasse, as it did to me just after I took this photo! This wasn't the only snow we crossed and another member found another hole open up because of a stream underneath.

The views from the top were wonderful and you can see more pictures from the day here if you are interested, particularly those who went on the walk.

As usual, we ended our walk with a good meal out and then drove home in pouring rain! A great day.
