A Church dear to my heart.

I managed to attend a lovely service at the Church where I was married many years ago. It looks much older than it actually is. The first stone was laid on St John's Day 1844 and it was consecrated in 1846 but the inclusion of many features from 15th Century church design gives it an air of a much older building. It has a beautiful lych gate which was added in 1949 as a memorial to those who gave their lives in the Second World War. I always think it looks especially beautiful at this time of year. Several of my family are buried in the graveyard which slopes and looks down over the town.
