Glorious day

Drive across to Blanchland this morning. Did a circular walk through the woods and back by the river, met a few dogs and Hetty was fine with them. Chatted to a guy helping himself to very large logs from a fallen tree. He said he has collected enough to get him through two winters. We chatted about the price of oil and the power cuts during the last few storms and then went on our way. Had lunch in the tea shop in the village, not been in for years as we didn’t find it very welcoming. New owners since last year and the place was great, very nice staff, food was delicious and as soon as we sat down a bowl of water and small tray of biscuits arrived for Hetty.
Another walk on the way home and then garden.
