In Memory of Trees

I was on the phone first thing begging the specialist eye veterinary clinic for  an emergency appointment for Tilly. Her eye symptoms were much worse and she'd not eaten for twenty four hours. My pleas  were listened to thankfully and they fitted her in this afternoon. Poor thing couldn't even bear me to touch her. 

An hours drive over there and I'm not feeling at all the ticket in Covid recovery mode but it transpired she had a huge abscess under her jaw which when it burst flooded out through her eye and is still oozing now. She is snuggled here at home dossed up on antibiotics and painkillers with a view now to unfortunately taking her eye out next week. I feel so sorry for her, sad and upset but in the long run if it makes her more comfortable and pain free I know in my heart it's the right thing to do.
