Such liberties we take for granted.
The liberty to hike for miles, as I did today to the top of of Mount Rokko and down into Takarazuka.
The liberty to practice our religion of choice, or to practice no religion.
The liberty to read almost anything we want to read.
The liberty to choose a career.
But liberty can be quickly lost. To quote Ronald Reagan, "Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for, protected, and handed on to our children for them to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children's children what it was once like in the United States where men were free." Of course, this applies to any land that is fortunate enough to be blessed with liberty.
