3rd Birthday Party

It has been a busy week preparing for the party, but worth it to see the absolute joy on both Oscar and Bailee's faces when they got to blow out their candles and were sung happy birthday too. We decided to sing to Oscar first (As he was born 8 minutes earlier!), and then to Bailee separately.

Unfortunately it was SO HOT today. It was the hottest day in Dubai yet, at 38 degrees at 3pm. We had lot's of drink and yummy food. Bailee loved her bunny cake and Oscar was delighted with his Pirate cake. They were chocolate with chocolate ganache and went down a treat.

We hired entertainment for the first time: some face painters/balloon people. Unfortunately we didn't get the main guy as he cancelled the night before.... so we had the b team and they certainly were that. Oh well, Oscar and Bailee and all the children didn't seem bothered.

We had Uncle Andy and Ruth around, and the extra hands were much appreciated. There was no panic at all today and it went very smoothly. The twins have been more than spoilt with lovely gifts from their friends.... we are going to put some away to bring out each weekend or in the holidays as they need to appreciate each and every one.

We thought it would be a small party this year, but I should have known Bailee and Oscar are too good at making friends for that. I felt a little sad today that their UK friends weren't there, but such is life.

The twins have gone to bed with all sorts of toys lining the edges of their beds. I am really proud of how well they coped and behaved today. They were little treasures at the party and it was such a big deal to them.
