What a brilliant day. We got up early and drove to Malton in North Yorkshire this morning (we live in Leicestershire) to visit their monthly food market. This month the theme was rhubarb. We tasted cheese with rhubarb, chocolate with rhubarb, fish with rhubarb, even curry with rhubarb! Which was damned good. Then on to Whitby, for fish and chips at the Magpie Café and a stroll along the pier. We've walked this pier in all weathers over the years - rain, fog, snow, hailstorm and occasionally even, as today, sunshine.
