Five-string banjo

he's still here with us—
furniture and instruments
scattered in our home

This banjo was made by Hervé, Julie's father, in his instrument-making period. He made so many different ones I forget, but guitars, banjos, mandolins, dulcimer, pedal steel guitar... come to mind.

The plant design on this banjo's neck is just exquisite. I think it's rosewood.
