The Wednesday walks with my friend Fiona continued today, she suggested Kilbroney Park & as I had never walked their, I was happy to go somewhere different. A few times on the climb to the top, we wondered why we had decided to do it. We saw a red squirrel, so that added to the walk enjoyment.
Recently I was given some photos & postcards of some of my relatives & amongst it was a "death penny" commemorating my great uncle who died in WW1 on 23rd March 1918 when he was shot in France, it is an extra. Another brother died when submarine G7 was lost, just 10 days from the end of the war, his date of death is recorded as 1/11/1918.
