Bonsai

My childhood friend, Alain (extra) was in Edinburgh for a few days and we took him to Bonsai for a lovely meal. I have known Alain since I was 3, in nursery. We went to the same primary school and although we ended in different secondary schools we remained close friends. He was recently awarded the title of chevalier de l’ordre national du Mérite for his caving activities and his innovative work with the "children of the moon" - children who have xeroderma pigmentosum, a rare genetic disease which makes them highly sensitive to the sun. Caving for them is a way of experiencing nature.
