Bright and alert
I'd barely had a couple of hours of sleep last night and would have preferred to stay in bed longer this morning but I had to get up earlier than usual as there was still enough to do before my brother would be here to have lunch with us.
After a very nice meal I had to leave for the sanctuary and I could only stop at the artificial island for a few minutes before I had to continue my ride. It was very quiet there and all the birds seemed to be snoozing. The only one that looked very bright and alert was this nesting Coot.
My walking companion from the sanctuary this afternoon was a lovely Malinois girl called Sonia. I don't know her history but she seemed very keen to go chasing after cars, so instead of walking around the park like I often do, we stayed well inside it this time so she couldn't see any cars driving past.
I didn't take any photos at the park after my walk with Sonia because of the wind and the sun we'd had earlier in the day had disappeared again by then as well.
My knees still felt somewhat sore when I got out of bed. They were definitely better than they'd been when I got home yesterday though, so the warmth of the elastic supports must have helped. Unfortunately there was a very strong wind again this afternoon which made cycling considerably harder, especially on a particular uphill stretch that already puts quite a strain on my knees even when it isn't windy. I'm wearing the supports again this evening and as I won't be going out tomorrow I should also be able to give my knees as much rest as possible.
Thank you so much again for all your lovely comments and stars on my Great Crested Greve blip from yesterday. :)
