At Rest

OK - so this is what we do on Saturdays. It's been a nice day today, the sun came out and it was actually warm. Spent a couple of hours in the garden - my experience of gardening is that it's either scrabbling about digging up weeds that seem to spring up again seconds after they've been wrenched from the earth, or hacking back great bushes that never stop shoving out great spiky branches which penetrate even the stoutest gardening gloves. Today was a hacking back day - the weeds are still hiding from the cold. And then our daughter and grand-daughter came over. Lots of fun in the garden (avoiding the saw, secateurs and shears), climbing up the ladder ('excited excited!!!'), kicking the ball, scooting the scooter, chasing the grandad. Then flaking out on the sofa. It's tough being 2. And then granddad got to play with his camera, taking endless photographs of the love of his life, one of which is gracing his journal today.
