Magnolia stellata

This wonderful Magnolia is a shrub or small tree with flowers which appear before the leaves. It originates in Japan and is now widely grown in Europe and North America.

Here it burst into flower about a week to ten days before the much bigger Magnolia trees.

It really completes the feeling of Spring on this perfect day of blue sky and still air.

But next week temperatures look due to fall to figures more commonfor March.
