Finito!

We don't have an especially big bedroom, but repainting it (for the second time in four years, thanks to my first attempt being a quick-fix botch job) has taken months. I prolonged the process by deciding to strip the fireplace, which actually meant ripping it out of the wall to get it dipped after someone pointed out there could be lead paint on it, which them meant replastering and repapering and, finally, repainting. Still, here is the finished result: a cast-iron fireplace, black lead-ed and in its original glory.
