Hazy...

This past week, during the fine weather, my valley has been filled with a smoke haze from the moors. Some parts of the moor have been set alight with portable BBQ's - when will people ever learn? Some parts have been deliberately set alight by the gamekeepers under the guise of a 'controlled burn.' This seems to often go wrong and require fire engines. The damage has already been done though as birds are already nesting and their 'food'...caterpillars etc have been burned.

I spotted this curlew early doors today on a patch of burnt moor from last year. As you can seen, there's not much growing, and that's one year on.
