Return to Haddo
A glorious day today, so we visited Haddo Country Park which is now partly open again following the damage done by storm Arwen.
We were much relieved to find that our favourite tree, a huge beech over 200 hundred years old and probably the largest in the NE of Scotland, has survived intact.
Extra. Elsewhere the damage is quite appalling. For example, this area, a home for red squirrels and rich in fungal life, was clear felled by the storm. Much of the Park is in the same state and will take generations to recover.
