The ayes ears have it.

On occasion we turn his ears inside out. Sometimes to examine for problems, sometimes for fun, sometimes just because we can.

On this occasion we heard him rough housing with himself on the carpet in the conservatory sunshine. We investigated.

"Whatcha doin?'" we asked. He sat bolt upright trying to not look guilty and by chance he had turned both his lugs inside out. We were in stitches, he looked so daft.
