Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2022 Friday — A Day at the Pool

I should be reporting about Mr. Fun’s doctor appointment, so I will at the end.

This is Jade Estella. She is our first great granddaughter and she enjoyed her 6th birthday this past November 16th. All of her long beautiful hair is tucked under that cute hat and when looking carefully, a missing tooth can be noticed. She lives in San Diego with her military parents (her daddy signed into the U.S. Navy when he was 18 and in just a couple years he’ll retire).

Her mom, Desiree, posted photos of them today enjoying the community pool in their little neighborhood and explained that they are enjoying a tad of summer during this month of March. Jade’s older brother is Tristan (15) and younger sister is Emillia (3). Their cousin is little RJ (2).

Mr. Fun had a morning doctor appointment at Kaiser Medical which was very good. I felt like he finally had Dr. John Koontz (an MD who used to be Mr. Fun’s General Practitioner) who listened and gave genuine and specific diagnosis and treatment. Mr. Fun has not felt well for the past 6 weeks. He has received a report explaining that he is cancer-free, but the radiation treatments and the hormone treatments have their own side-effects and that is what is currently affecting him and now these issues are being addressed and possibly this will conquer them. I think and hope we are turning a corner. Mr. Fun had an appointment a month ago with a doctor he had never seen before and I felt like he received a “rubber-stamp” diagnosis. He didn’t improve with her prescribed treatment. Ugh!

The doctor today prescribed lab work and several meds and asked that Mr. Fun make telephone appointments for every 2 weeks so the doctor can keep in touch with Mr. Fun’s progress or lack of progress and then the lab work will be repeated and a face-to-face appointment with the doctor every month when we are in SoCal.

After the doctor appointment we met our daughter for lunch. She has an extended “off-work” order from her doctor and she’s dealing with some serious medical issues that are being addressed with strong medication.

Then it was time to get back to the house to check on Chloe & Mitzi. They pretty much hate SoCal because they get left at the house a lot because it is too hot to stay in the car.

That was our final Friday in March. The past few days have been very warm. We are looking forward to returning to the Central Coast, and we are told that rain is on the way in SoCal and at the Central Coast.

From SoCal,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
