Snake's Head Fritillary

One of the first flowers to appear in the Floral Labyrinth at Trentham Gardens. This part of the gardens only truly come into bloom in late July but there are a few Spring bulbs to add a bit of colour at this time of the year.

The extra is of a new fairy sculpture - Beyond Ithaka. It was commissioned to raise awareness about organ donation and honour donor families. The sculptor, Robin Wight, doesn't usually do commissions but had no hesitation when asked to create this one.

It was unveiled recently and filmed for The One Show shown on 22nd March. it is situated in a peaceful part of the gardens where families can sit and remember their loved ones.
