Looking down on a Heron

Had a pleasant walk in the nature reserve with S this afternoon in the sunshine. This Heron was stood at the overflow into the River Trent and very close to the bridge we were crossing.

In extras is my attempts at bricking up the old fireplace at my daughter's house. It's a good job its being plastered over, I'd best stick to the day job. Oh wait I am retiring, so that will be even more bodgit and scarper DIY jobs in the future.  Cannot believe the wall used to be that shade of purple.
