Spring garden glory
Took this first thing in case we’d seen the last of the sun but it has been another lovely day and I’ve just come in from sewing in the garden having started to get slightly chilled ( after 5.00pm), but great to have the extra hour to extend the afternoons.
The garden is really at it’s best at this time of year, forsythia, magnolias, (two out of sight tot he right) red and orange Japanese quince as well as all the spring bulbs make it look special.
We had daffodils at our Mothering Sunday service today and I took a bunch, to drop off on the way home, for my friend who has Covid. A couple of my friends are still suffering after a week and the family aren’t clear yet, it seems to be lingering on.
When I got home from church there had been a lovely bouquet delivered for me from the Bath family and a cute video message came later from the two girls sitting in a laundry basket for some reason! My son also arrived in the afternoon with more flowers, so kind as he did take us out last Sunday.
Hope everyone else in the UK is enjoying Mothering Sunday/ Mothers Day as in know it's not always easy for everybody.
We’ve had a really great week both away in the Lakes and at home. It is apparently set to change despite it now being officially British Summertime so I wanted to record the magnolia in case it gets blasted by frost and bad weather as in the last couple of years.
Last night our first singing gig went down well. We sang as families arrived for their evening event. Several of the Downs children entered into it with gusto, dancing in front of us as we sang. It’s great to go and sing which we all enjoy but at the same time bring pleasure to those we are trying to help through fundraising.
