Oak hedge
I heel in forty oak plants to form a new hedge. I still need to roll a weed suppressing mat over the top … and wait a decade. In the end they will protect my polytunnel and vegetables from southerly winds.
Mike comes round with Torrin. He brings some Scots pines and takes some used tree tubes and stakes. The pines go in up the hill, in front of the water tanks.
For tea I have the other venison steak, this time with red kale, Charlotte potatoes, and cauliflower cheese. Yum. To follow ice cream with a drizzle of Anna-Maria’s rose liqueur.
