Garrett Today

This little stream feeds into Swallow Falls, the highest waterfall in Maryland.
Today we drove out to western Maryland to do two Cache Across Maryland geocaches. We didn't do a good job checking the weather (the mountains always seem to get us!) and ended up in a big snowstorm. The temperature was 21 degrees at our first cache, and there were 8 inches of snow on the ground. The hike to the cache was a challenge in sneakers and jeans. It was a pretty memorable trip that took hours longer than we expected.
The extra is of my husband, ahead of me, "hiking" on a ancient riverbed where the second geocache was hidden. *full disclosure: I did not get all the way to the cache. I chickened out. Yay for teamwork, though!
