Its one of those days

Its been one of those rare days today that I feel like I accomplished a lot but it's still felt a relaxing lazy day.

First of all, its been raining none stop, so except for venturing out to have a coffee with Holly (my siter-in-laws sister, who i'm also good friends with), I've hibernated. Lovely seeing Holly, as we haven't see each other in months and she's a fully qualified Solicitor now. In much need of a night out!

The rest of the day was spent getting the washing done, tidying up the mess around the house accomulated during the week and then pretty much on the sofa knitting, while catching up on a few things i'd missed during the week on telly or watching sport with Matt . I watched the second ep of Sow Bee, which just gives me itching fingers to start getting to work on my sowing machine. I've decided I will finish my knitting square's, then move on to my sowing projects. You can't do everything at once!

I learnt two things to do with knitting today - First is that if you see any pattern with the word "interlaced" in, it's a cert that it's going to be blimming hard! I just finished a interlaced cable, made up of 18 rows and those little 18 rows took me hours to work out. Kept having to unravel a line and work out what i'd done wrong. Got my head around it eventually. Second is I learnt a knew knitting skill which i'm chuffed with, called "bobbles", where you litterally make a little bobble in your pattern. Its so sweet, I might take a photo and make it my next blip.

I'm slowly tackling the Hairy Dieters cook book and I did the Chicken and Ham filo pastry pie. I can not recommend this cook book enough, the food is gorgeous AND healthy!! One of my favourite recipes ever is the Spanish Chicken meal. The pie didn't turn out bad at all but I think I would spice it up a little whith some sweet paprika or maybe make it sweeter with some cranberry, it just felt a little more bland than their's other recipe but it was still lovely. Made loads, so will be having it for lunch too.

As you can see from the pic, Cheetara joined us on our lazy day. I love random Cat sleeping positions, she does take up way too much space on the sofa when she does this one though.
