One perfect flower...
...all of the rest are brown around the edges. Such is life.
Today is probably the last day of dry, warm weather for a while. In one way I am sorry and in another not. When it's dry and warm I feel I have to 'make use' of the weather and do outdoor jobs or find other outdoor pursuits. Wet and cold means I can curl up with a good book and not feel guilty about it.
I am currently reading Outbreak by Frank Gardner. It's just a thriller but it is very readable and I am enjoying it. Frank is a great hero of mine; I have always been impressed by the way he has got on with life despite sustaining serious injuries in a gun attack. He neither makes a fuss about it nor pretends that life is easy. His reporting for the BBC on the war in Ukraine is balanced, intelligent and thoughtful. And now I find he can write fiction too. A talented man.
