Poor Joey

What a day… Checkup at the dentist and at the same time the work started on some of the rooms in our house where we have damp patches on the walls. As it turned out today, the problems seem to come from one particular room and the root cause is the fact that this room apparently never had a proper concrete floor installed when the old farmhouse was converted to bedrooms and kitchen. Today we had to decide to remove the entire floor. It will be replaced by a modern floor that blocks moist from below. At the same time, several walls will be injected with stuff to make them impenetrable for water as well. This should eliminate the problems we’ve been having since we moved in last year.

However, the main story for today is about Joey. He wasn’t feeling that well yesterday and he threw up a couple of times. It all seemed OK by the end of the day, but today he started throwing up his food again and really couldn’t keep anything in. He started shaking and was obviously not feeling great, so I took him to the vet where he got a shot that should stop his vomiting. That worked, but he still wasn’t doing well and he hasn’t eaten much since. At night, he started shaking again and was obviously in pain. Eventually, it calmed down and he was able to sleep.
