It was another adventurous day! But this time it was during the day. Karen and I had just had a "discussion" about handling the mouse when she went upstairs, screamed, and yelled, "mouse."

This time I chased the mouse with a plastic container, demonstrating that I can learn. Mouse is behind the coffee maker. One by one I move everything away and then, dramatically, using my right hand, with the left hand holding the plastic container, jerk away the coffee maker to see.... nothing!!
Poor little mouse was now hiding over by the toaster oven. Entire exercise repeated. This mouse, this poor, and quite cute, little mouse, ran down through the cooktop into the stove. 

You think I'm a nice person but I did consider turning on the oven. I did look, the mouse wasn't in the oven. 

See, the problem is, I blocked the exit to the hole under the stove. 

During this exciting chase I learned of another travel channel and when I get more steel wool I will fill it up too. 

Did I block the mouse's exit? Is the mouse now trapped in my house? 

I kid you not. There, on my hands and knees, in front of the stove, I tried to persuade the mouse to give herself up. I told her she'd be safe, I would transport her to a park. Yes, it is cold, but she'd live. I'd brought the other two mice there and left them food. Otherwise we were going to engage in ever rougher measures, she could NOT live here. Just come on out. 

Unfortunately, we haven't known each other long enough to build sufficient trust. It was too big an ask. 

Finland seized 21 luxury yachts. Finland didn't even know they were Russian, they just thought they might be. Earlier this month, they seized a 105-foot superyacht linked to former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev.


Italy recently impounded a yacht owned by Russian millionaire Andrey Melnichenko. France seized the 289-foot Amore Vero linked to Russian oligarch Igor Sechin. Germany’s even joined in by impounding the 512-foot superyacht Dilbar owned by Russian tycoon Alisher Usmanov.


Heineken and Carlsberg are leaving Russia. Beer has become one of the most popular alcoholic beverages in the country.


The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is closing its offices in Moscow and the Belarusian capital of Minsk. It set aside $2.2 billion for Ukraine and others affected by the war.



New Zealand's military will assist with intelligence related to the war in Ukraine, including analyzing satellite images. The country will supply intelligence efforts “taking advantage of the time zone difference to help with key tasks during their night time and our day time.”
