It’s all over now… for another year
Helped out at the panto performances again today. At this afternoon’s matinee I just did the pop and crisps for the children. This evening AuntieP and I were asked to man the cameras filming the production. “Just press this button, and when the camera counts down, press again and then press to restart”. Sounded simple enough, except the tripod was set high to see the stage, so being small I couldn’t see the aforementioned button! Anyway, sorted, and then watched it time down from 30 minutes. At one minute to go, reset the camera. All fine, then click, everything went blank - the battery had run out! A few adjustments and the memory card was downloaded in the interval and we were all set to go again. Unfortunately this time the battery died again 15 minutes from the end of the show, as did the one AuntieP was manning. Luckily the show had also been filmed at the matinee, so there should be enough footage to put a video together for the cast. A great last performance. I went to help set up the after show party food, and as the camera owner arrived he laughed and said to the others “she had one job - one job, and what did she do…….?!” - good job he knew it was the batteries which were at fault! An excellent party with some hysterical renditions of “theatre behind the sofa” and pseudo auditions for being a cactus, or a tumbleweed in the next production! Yes, we are all bonkers! :-0)). I arrived home just after 5am - it had to be the day when the clocks went forward didn’t it?!
