Le Mans un détour

a change of plan…

bad weather and early morning rush hour traffic was slowing down our journey

so we decided to use the toll motorway from Tours to the Eurotunnel at Calais

you can drive at 130km/h (81mph) on the toll motorways… and we did

burns the fuel though 

todays price at our usual TotalEnergies garage in Poitiers was an eye watering €1.97 per litre (unleaded petrol 95 octane)

journeying through Angouleme, Poitiers and on the outskirts of Tours the highest price we saw was €2.29 which is just ridiculous 

stopped for breakfast at Le Mans not far from the 24 hour race circuit
