Leiden

We cycled through to Leiden, with great ease from the house boat we were staying in.  We have never cycled in Holland before and we were so impressed by the ease of getting around.
We parked up in the main town square and had a fabulous day. The weather was still very good.
We took the Rembrandt walking tour which took us through the oldest streets and squares in Leiden.  Apparently if Rembrandt were around today he would be able to find his way around, as this part of the city is so unchanged even 400 years later.
The photo shows a small garden close to Rembrandts birthplace.  We very much enjoyed the University Botanic Gardens, which are the oldest in Holland.
We felt that Leiden was like a much smaller and quieter Amsterdam.
