Daffodil

I began to think that these daffodils, bought earlier this month at West Linton Market, would never flower as the blooms seemed stuck at the bud stage. However, after a few days of sunshine, a good watering, and here we are, the first one is open. The variety is Tahiti and I can understand why, the frilly two-toned trumpet akin to a swirling grass skirt.

Their days of sunshine are over as the weather has turned cold and wet, with the possibility of snow showers for the next day or so. We're back to winter woollies, they'll have to fend for themselves.
