Forever Friends
Today, we went to our third of three funerals in the last week. This lady was the mother of my youngest sister’s best friend. Nancy and my sister Dianna were friends from first grade through 12th. After my sister was killed while riding her bike at the age of 18, Nancy adopted my mother and has remained a faithful “daughter” ever since. Our families had many shared interests over the years. Mrs. Gibson has been completely incapacitated for awhile so her passing was a blessing for her and her family. At the repast, Nancy, who lives in upstate NY, said having my mother at the funeral made the day bearable. She only gets “home” a few times a year so we were glad we made the effort. We took Momma shopping, reset her meds mail program and took her home. We picked up my eye meds and took a short late afternoon rest. With such a hearty repast meal, we will not need dinner. I hope you had the opportunity to brighten someone’s day. Thanks for all your good wishes for Brookie. She injured the wrist when she dived for the ball in the goal area and someone stepped on it. We are hearing rumblings about the new highly contagious COVID sub-strain. Be safe. Pray for Ukraine. If only we could trust Russia. “Best friends can turn a horrible day into one of the best days of your life.” – Nathanael Richmond
