Unknown Flowers

We have some weird houseplants that grow upwards in spindly fashion. Each leaf is edged with small plantlets that drop off and then grow into new plants if they hit some soil.  I'm not fond of them and wanted to chop the spindly bits off but Jan thought that very unfair so they stayed.  After two years of spindliness each plant suddenly produced a rather delicately coloured set of flowers.
Nice, but I'm sure the flowers were worth the two-year wait.
