Live it loud!

Base effect

One moment it is snowing like crazy and then, a few minutes later, the sun is shining. This is an abstract of the pattern shining through the base of a glass decanter sat on the window sill.

That's the highlight of the day after we had a "Do Not Use' warning slapped on the boiler because of a broken plastic clip that only performs any function (One of two holding the control board in place until it is released for access) when someone takes the front cover off the boiler.
Am expecting a call from the B.Gas maintenance people to say that they can't replace the clip because they don't have the part.
Their next step will be to say that the boiler needs to be replaced.

Already checked that
a) There is no immediate safety risk unless the boiler is opened up. The front cover keeps it in place.
b) The remaining clip is still in place, so any risk is currently theoretical and near zero.
c) If there is any electrical risk is only to approved registered gas installers and can be mitigated by isolating the boiler prior to opening.
d) The replacement part is £6.14 and is widely available.
e) Heat resistant Duct Tape would do the job.

Smacks of a cheap and cynical way of getting someone to part with thousands of pounds. Game on....
