Hadrian's Cycleway

(back home and finally finding some time for a bit of back-blipping!)

We've been over in Holland for a week or so - first foreign trip for several years, and was all initially planned (and paid for!) back in early 2020 : couldn't eventually go in late March 2020 obviously, and wasn't possible in March 2021 either. So, we've just had a 2022 holiday at 2020 prices ;-)

Set off from Edinburgh on our bikes, took the train down to Newcastle, then cycled out to near Tynemouth to catch the overnight ferry over to Amsterdam-port (Ijmuiden).

Main snap shows the Hadrian's Cycleway (NCN 72) which links Newcastle city centre and Tynemouth. Check out the extra, which shows the departure port area ... a good portent of the weather to come during the rest of the week :-))
