Vino Calapso
A very belated birthday present from Mrs DP, heading into London Village for a swanky lunch and then some wine tasting.
So first food, at the impressive Skylon restaurant in the Royal Festival Hall on the South Bank. Sat by the huge windows so had amazing views of the river, and devoured three sublime courses (carpaccio of venison, lamb three ways, and baked alaska for me). Heaven.
Then to Vinopolis for a few hours of wine tasting (along with whisky, gin, absinthe, rum and beer). You only get small amounts but together it definitely mounted up, and by the end we were ever so slightly wobbly! Nice though, and a good opportunity to try wines from places like Lebanon and Brazil, and waffle on about aromas, oak barrels etc.
So there was only ever one blip in it - me trying to find those aromas.......
