Soonhope Valley

Tucked away behind the Peebles Hydro Hotel is the Soonhope Valley. The lower part contains a collection of huts; that strange Scottish tradition of building a wee hidey hole in the countryside to escape to (and which of us could honestly say they have never felt like having a wee hidey to hole to escape to?). Some are more ramshackle than others; they all have a certain something.

Further along the path, this wonderfully expansive view of the valley appears. I did climb to one of the tops, but the view was better from lower down.
