A Buzzing Bonus

The day started much like yesterday - cold, wet and windy with a smattering of snow and plenty of ice! I spent the morning indoors doing housework, apart from a brief foray outside to replenish the bird feeders - it was freezing out there.

After lunch the sun appeared so I popped out for a walk and I was busily photographing some beautiful blackthorn blossom against a deep blue sky when a hoverfly appeared and started buzzing about the flowers….so I managed a nice close up (see extra 1)…and then another fly appeared nearby so I managed a shot of that as well (see extra 2).

In the end I was spoilt for choice for a blip - and I actually warmed up quite nicely in the sunshine.

A better day all round.
