1936

I took the dogs a walk along a path I normally run. There is a long Avenue of trees high above the river and it is one of the old paths that has been used for generations. I think it must have been a popular place for courting couples as a lot of the trees have initials carved in them, some with dates. Some are so old that you can’t read them anymore as the tree has grown, there were some dated 2013 which seemed to be the most recent date. I liked this one which I think says 1936, getting close to 100 years old. It is on a tree that has fallen so it’s just a trunk, the other side is covered in moss. I don’t think this is popular anymore- is it all love locks these days?
