Spring Has Sprung
But it was still flipping cold when I got up and wandered up to the postbox.
There was a hint of colour in the clouds as I ignored the 'Path Closed' sign and squeezed past the barriers at the other end to cross the beautifully resurfaced path - that has taken them 3 weeks and which you can see they still haven't finished (I can't work out why it is just that small patch when the road roller is parked that hasn't been finished - or why all of the cross paths are still closed).
I was surprised that the water droplets on the feather were not frozen as everything else seemed to be ... which is why I didn't carry on for a walk. Well, that and the fact that the clouds and the colour were all but gone.
SWMBO got up as I was making breakfast, had half a crumpet, 2 mouthfuls of tea and went back to bed where she has remained asleep from the rest of the day.
I took the opportunity to go out to the garage.
About 10.45am the man with the telephone turned up in his van - with a mate - and was immediately spoken to be the lady of the house with the blue plastic covered windows. I suspect that he had had a phone call that ruined his long weekend off. By the time I was inside and making my coffee at 11am the pair of them were already at it and at 7pm the windows, woodwork, pipes etc. were all unwrapped and they were getting into the van and leaving. I have further suspicions that their full payment and manhood were in danger if it wasn't completed today.
