Roll With It

Almost There

Our memories are more than patterns of connections in the brain. They're the essence of us. Memories chart our passage through life, store the things we learn along the way and shape our experience of the world around us.

They can also cause strong emotional reactions.

Such has been the experience for Clare and I over the last three days. As we worked through the Back Lounge so we rediscovered pictures and photographs hanging that we have not seen for some time, as we worked through bags, boxes and containers we found letters, postcards, photographs, children's school work and reminders of parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends and comrades no longer with us.

Some laughter, some smiles, some sadness, some tears but what wonderful memories.

Elsewhere the garden has been cleaned, tidied and pressure washed, another tip run completed and all the kindling and logs sawn and stored. The photo shows the Back Lounge patio doors open and the room airing.

We are ready for the next half of the school term, Sam with anticipation, Josh with the "do I have to", Clare into Uni and me, well "marking time" is as good a description as any I guess.
