Fungi
Yesterday’s rain produced some unusual fungi in my garden. The main shot is of a white basket fungi, which I rarely see. It is quite big, 9 or 10 cms across, is creamy white and has khaki slime carrying the spore. They don’t last long in the sunshine.
The other is a “red truffle-like fungus”- that’s its common name. (See extra). Unfortunately I broke it open to see the spore before I photographed it whole. At about 1cm long it was not fully ripe. I think it would have grown larger.
Both are native to New Zealand, but are also found elsewhere.
