Cherry Blossom Festival
Up early (still on UK time), so decided to head off for a tour around Washington and hopefully to check out the cherry blossom. There's a cherry blossom festival each year in Washington with lots of special activities. I walked around the tidal basin in search of blossom - not all the trees were out but it was such a lovely bright sunny day (though still a bit cold), it didn't matter. I saw one couple having wedding photos done under the blossom (the bride in a very short skirt and exceptionally high heels - she must have been freezing). In another part of the walk, a chap had just proposed and received a round of applause from other visitors as he was accepted.
Decided to try and find out where the conference centre was before I had to get there again later on. It was quite a way from the Washington Mall and by the time I had got back to the hotel, I was not looking forward to the ten block walk back again.
Managed to get the stand set up within a couple of hours and check that everything had made it over from London OK. Now all ready for the conference to open tomorrow.
