Glasgow
So I have travelled up to Glasgow in readiness for my textile course tomorrow. I have had a fantastic afternoon wondering around the West End. I’ve been to the Hunterian Art gallery, which I was excited to see the Joan Eardley exhibition (a little underwhelmed). However the Macintosh house was fabulous. I hadn’t realised how much white he used! Charles Rennie Macintosh and his Wife Margaret MacDonald were truly inspirational in their design. The cloisters and architecture of the university was amazing too.
Then on to the Kelvingrove Art Gallery (blipped) - a building I have wanted to visit for a very long time. Here there was an exhibition by photographer Eric Watt, which was photos of Glaswegian life. Fabulous. I love street photography. A very interesting gallery - lots to see. Of course I had to stop for a cuppa and empire biscuit.
I wondered back to the vicinity of my hotel. Found a nice pub for dinner and a pint of beer from a brewery local to Peterborough. I stopped at an ice cream parlour for some tablet ice cream to end my day. Back at my hotel, with feet singing!
