Saturday: Brasserie Du Bas

Our first trip to a microbrewery since we arrived and our first trip to Quebec.  Although the Quebec point is a little disingenuous as it’s actually just 10 minutes over the river from us.

Back in early November we met a lovely couple from Montreal in a Vancouver pub and had a great chat.  We’ve stayed in touch and they texted yesterday to see if we fancied meeting in ‘Brasserie Du Bas’ in Gatineau for a few drinks.  We always thought a brasserie was a restaurant but apparently here it’s quite definitely a brewery.

We had a great time with D&M.  Really sweetly they drove 2 1/2 hours from Montreal to meet up. They also dropped us off afterwards - Uber is allowed to pick you up in Ontario and drop you off in Quebec but isn’t allowed to pick you up in Quebec.  Go figure…..
