This magnificent Blackthorn is on the river bank opposite to me.   It looked quite stunning in the morning sunshine with those cotton wool clouds in the blue sky.
Old country lore says that when the Blackthorn blossom is out we will usually get a cold snap called a Blackthorn Winter as the falling flowers mimic snow falling.   That's about right for this year at least.
