Love the strength of our church community

#Today The Rev and I did a Lent Lunch for Kidney Research (for obvious reasons ). In the week we chopped loads of vegetables and made veggie curry with a hunk of bread or cottage pie and peas. 2 friends made a trifle and an Eton Mess (we added a chocolate and a strawberry gateau). Think we had about 50 diners and made about £330 (at last count)

#as soon as we packed up we walked to the old people’s home to hear our ladies choir (The Dotty Crochets) sing in sunshine, rain and snow ( that was the weather not a song:) )
Home for a sofa snooze before we were back up to the church cinema night…..West Side Story…very powerful. Sadly one lady had a funny turn my friends Heather and Jane( nurses at the local hospital) did “their thing”… an ambulance was called. She will be ok. Amazing all this went on at the back of the church and many people didn’t even notice.
A great community day…working together, dining together, singing together and showing the power of kindness goes a long way.
