Marley out of the woods
I waited until we got out of the woods for my regular Sunday portrait of Marley. He was looking particularly handsome today with the wind blowing through his ears.
That's a Gartmorn Dam below, a local beauty spot, 'cept they've drained half the water out and it looks more like a Water Board reservoir in a drought.
Note: Water boards were publicly owned assets that 10 generations had invested in before Maggie Thatcher sold them for election bribe money to her rich pals back in the 80's. She sold all the power companies too, public transport, telecoms ..basically everything of value. In between destroying the North and our manufacturing base, she then she squandered all the North Sea oil revenue. Plenty of people got rich, but nobody I knew. Then New Labour took over and things got a bit fairer but they didn't really have a plan and frittered over a trillion pounds on bureaucracy and sold off all the gold. Now we're told the energy will run out soon because governments haven't planned shit for the last 30 years. Politicians suck big time but Maggie T was definitely the low point in my lifetime (closely followed by Blair the war criminal)...Rant over ... (where did that come from??)
