Barrels

I took a lovely shot of the finished barrels full of lavender - but I can blip them another day! I really like this being a snapshot of the day, and the work involved in planting them up.

These half barrels from B & M are really heavy (25kg each) and I rolled mine up the drive rather than carry it!  Dave drilled holes in the bottom for drainage, and we added some broken bricks in the bottom too, as googling told me that lavender likes free draining soil so they don't want to get waterlogged.
