Sesbania Grandiflora

A visit to St Andrews this morning ….. not for shopping although I did buy a couple of books in Waterstones. Having no branch of my bank at home I use the BofS in St Andrews when I’m in Fife.

Then it was off to the Botanic Gardens to renew our annual membership. A walk through the rockery, round the pond and up through the woodland to the greenhouse provided today’s blips.

I had no idea of the name of this plant and there was no sign of any naming label so I had to use the plant app on my phone. In the blink of an eye up came the name Vegetable Hummingbird.
The plant has edible flowers and leaves and is commonly eaten in Southeast Asia.
